Guidelines for residents
CONFIDENTIALITY
Group confidentiality is required. Residents are expected not to repeat or share information disclosed by other residents in group settings.

CORE PROGRAM GUIDELINES (COMMUNITY RULES) Residents are expected to follow all program rules.
Violations may result in consequences up to and including discharge.
1. No alcohol, drugs, or misuse of prescribed and over-the-counter drugs.
2. No violence or physical/verbal abuse toward self, others, or property.
3. No weapons of any kind on the property (including pocket knives and tools).
4. Residents may not leave the property, leave on a pass, or stay overnight on a pass without clinical approval.
5. Residents are responsible for signing in and signing out when leaving the center on an approved pass including school and work
6. Med diversion including the following ( taking medication out of the med room, abusing meds, selling or trading meds, and not taking medications as prescribed is strictly prohibited at Holistic Recovery Center.
7. No illegal activities or breaking laws.
8. No pornography (written or electronic).
9.No gambling in any form.
10. No pets/animals permitted without approval.
11. Residents must respect privacy and be considerate of neighbors by keeping noise levels low.
12. Participants may have one (1) vehicle on the property if it is street-legal, licensed, insured, and parked in a designated area.
13. Tobacco use including cigarettes, e cigarettes, vapes, chew, pouches, must be used outside only in designated areas only; dispose of smoking materials safely.
14. No open flame inside the home (including lighters, candles, incense, wax warmers).
15. Residents may not loan or borrow money, vehicles, or personal items from other residents. This guideline is written to protect the community environment and residents from personal loss.
16. No resident is permitted in another resident’s room unless that resident is present and permission is given.
17. Use of the house phone or house computer (may be limited to 30 minutes depending on available slots )
18. Residents are not to touch or tamper with Facility electronics such as camera wifi modems/extenders, household phones lap tops or TVs
19. Residents are expected to follow all Guidelines and Expectations on their individual phase of treatment.

TREATMENT PARTICIPATION (REQUIRED)
All residents are required to participate in treatment services as outlined in their phase requirements and individual treatment plan.
Treatment participation includes:
• required groups/classes
• recovery meetings
• individual counseling sessions
• assignments provided by the clinical team
• maintaining compliance with medical provider requirements Residents must remain engaged, respectful, and accountable in all treatment activities.
NUTRITION & DIETARY POLICY (GLUTEN-FREE AND SUGAR-FREE)
At Holistic Recovery Center, we maintain a gluten-free and sugar-free environment because nutrition plays a powerful role in recovery. Many people experience mood swings, fatigue, brain fog, increased anxiety, and stronger cravings when blood sugar is unstable or the body is inflamed. This approach supports more consistent energy, improved emotional stability, clearer thinking, and reduced cravings.
Quick Reminder: This nutrition approach helps support mood stability, reduce cravings, and promote steady energy in early recovery.
The Holistic Sober Center maintains strict dietary guidelines regarding foods allowed on campus. This policy ensures that all shared and personal food items promote stable blood sugar, minimize inflammation, and align with holistic recovery practices. Please see below for details:
1. Gluten-Free Requirements
Foods Not Allowed:
Any item containing:
● Wheat (including whole wheat, white flour, wheat starch, semolina, spelt, durum)
● Barley
● Rye
● Triticale
● Malt or malt-based ingredients
● Any food not clearly labeled “gluten-free”
Foods Allowed:
● Naturally gluten-free whole foods (fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes)
● Gluten-free grains: rice, quinoa, millet, buckwheat, amaranth, certified gluten-free oats
● Certified gluten-free packaged products (ONLY if minimally processed and free from * added sugars—see below)
